Our history

Genesis Housing Association was formed in April 2011, following a group merger between Paddington Churches Housing Association, Springboard, Pathmeads and Genesis Housing Group. Our history is a long and exciting one dating back nearly half a century, from the time that Paddington Churches Housing Association was first formed (1965) in response to the serious housing crisis that was gripping parts of London.

We have come a long way in that time, and the external environment has changed dramatically, but we continue to be guided by consistent principles of helping people in and around London with strong support, housing to be proud of and opportunities to turn lives around.

What we stand for

We believe our role is to provide high quality homes and services to support our customers and the communities in which they live.

Our social purpose today is just as clear as it was 50 years ago and we are still passionate about creating and sustaining thriving communities.

We combine our social purpose with a commercial approach geared to filling gaps in dysfunctional housing markets and creating value in the properties we own and the places in which we operate.

We offer a wide range of tenures, products and services which are aimed at helping our customers meet their housing aspirations as they evolve and their circumstances change over time.
