Spotlight Autumn 2016

Suzanne GodfreyAs you may have read on our website and elsewhere, we are no longer merging with Thames Valley Housing, and will remain as Genesis Housing Association for the time being. The decision not to go ahead with the planned merger was made at the end of August for a number of reasons, and you can find out more about this.

As we look to the future and our plans going forward, we also look to the past as we pay our respects to Ken Start, one of the founders of Springboard (that later became part of Genesis), who sadly passed away this year. Neil Hadden shares his memories of Ken.

We have continued to work hard this year to offer the best possible service and I’m delighted to say that our customer service is improving according to feedback surveys we have carried out. Our achievements include making an estate in East London safer for the residents that live there, successfully prosecuting a resident in Redbridge for tenancy fraud and funding a GoodGym initiative in Essex.

We are also assisting the mass regeneration of Hammersmith and Fulham by building 605 much-needed new homes in Old Oak, West London.

Finally, don’t miss hearing about Sir David Attenborough’s visit to a new wildlife centre that has opened at Woodberry Down, one of our major regeneration sites in Hackney.

We hope you enjoy reading this edition.
