Youth mentor volunteers

• Three hours per week including travel time
• East or West London
• Full training provided
• Expenses paid

This is an excellent volunteering opportunity for residents who would like to increase their skills and experience working with young people.

You will volunteer alongside the Genesis Community youth team and act as a positive role-model for young people aged of 8-25. The volunteering will take place either in a school or community setting.

• Signposting a young person to agencies that can help them in the areas they need support (e.g. housing, employment, training, health)
• Get to know the young person and advise where appropriate
• Helping the young person recognise barriers that affects their learning and provide a safe environment for them to talk, learn and overcome these issues
• Working with the young person to take a more positive role in their local community
