Genesis apprentices take a tour of Number 10

Two apprentices from Genesis' Social and Economic Regeneration team had a chance to see what's behind the most famous door on Downing Street in March as part of a special tour to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week.

Misan Boyo and Sean Peyton joined apprentices from other organisations on the special visit, which is organised every year by apprenticeship training provider Hawk Training.  As well as getting comfortable in Winston Churchill’s famous chair and finding out about prime ministers through the ages, they had the chance to meet other apprentices, including ones from Number 10 and the Cabinet Office who were conducting the tour.

Hawk Training is Genesis’ preferred apprenticeship training provider, and currently delivers training for apprentices in the Social and Economic Regeneration team and Genesis Connect, with further roles in the pipeline.

Steve Nicola, Enterprise, Employment and Training Officer at Genesis Housing Association, said:  “We hope to be involved in the 10 Downing Street tour every year and continue to build on our partnership with Hawk Training. The tour is a great opportunity for our apprentices to network with apprentices from other sectors and discuss their experiences.”
