Grahame Park teens invited to have their say
What do Grahame Park teens want in their community? That’s the question that will be asked at a Youth Forum on the estate this Friday. Genesis Community is inviting youths aged 15 to 19 to come along and have their say.
With the regeneration of Grahame Park picking up pace, Genesis is asking local teens to come together to chat about their ideas and discuss what kind of activities they would like to see. The event is part of Genesis’ work to engage with the younger residents on the estate, empowering them to make positive changes in their community and a key element of Genesis’ regeneration of Grahame Park.
Following the forum, the teens will be supported by Genesis to help turn their ideas into a reality. Through its small grants programme the youths will be able to access funding to support and sustain the projects that come out of the event.
Fitzroy Lewinson, Senior Development Officer at Genesis, said: “Through this event and the work we’re doing at Grahame Park we’re trying to widen the horizons of its teenage residents and give them the belief that they can change their lives. We’re also encouraging parents to get involved and support the group and help it to grow into something lasting and beneficial to the area.”
The Youth Forum will run from 4.30pm to 6pm at 15, The Concourse, Grahame Park with free refreshments. For more information or to attend the event email infocommunity@Genesisha.org.uk or call 020 8900 4765.
