In November 2012, Genesis was granted planning permission for
the former Anglia Ruskin University site in central Chelmsford.
This major project will see the heart of Chelmsford redeveloped
into a mixed use residential scheme creating over 500 homes.
Once finished it will offer a new commercial centre which will
include office, retail and community units. We are retaining and
refurbishing three historical buildings in the area which will
serve for a variety of uses.
The development is part of the wider regeneration of Chelmsford
and is a commutable destination in and out of London.
Development for the first of the two phases started in 2012. In
total the first phase will deliver 219 homes including 65 extra
In addition three historic buildings, Anne Knight, Frederick
Chancellor and the Law building, will be refurbished, and new
retail space created.
