Madeley Road, Hanger Lane is part of the regeneration located in
the London Borough of Ealing. The site originally contained six
Edwardian properties, three located on Madeley Road and three
located on Hanger Lane.
The new scheme will increase the number of properties to seven.
The development will restore three properties located on Madeley
Road and demolish three properties on Hanger Lane to enable the
construction of four brand new buildings, designed to match the
style of both the original buildings and the surrounding area.
All of the properties will be three storeys high and include
front and rear gardens. The buildings reflect a varying degree of
architectural styles and facades.
Planning approval was granted in summer 2011 to develop 50
flats. Once built, it will provide a mixed tenure including 15
social, 25 market rent, 10 shared ownership as well as private and
communal amenity space.
The site is located within a conservation area on the north side
of Madeley Road at its junction with Hanger Lane. It is easily
commutable from North Ealing station and a short walk from Ealing
Broadway station, which will be part of the new Crossrail route
from 2019. In addition the area is facilitated with a number of
local bus and cycle routes.
The scheme plans to be complete in summer 2016 and is being part
funded by the HCA under their latest initiative build to rent.
