Resident Board members

We have two places on the Genesis Board for residents. These residents play the same governance role as other Board members. They are responsible for ensuring that Genesis complies with its legal and regulatory requirements, and are responsible for setting our long terms plans.  When vacancies for resident Board members become available, they will be advertised online and in the residents’ magazine with full details of how to apply.

Our current resident Board members are Imani Douglas-Walker and Brian Ansell.

Imani Douglas-Walker had experience as an event manager, before becoming a qualified personal development and career coach, coaching individuals to transform hidden abilities into realistic goals and outcomes.

She is the founder of Raise the Bar – a community initiative that provides personal development and career coaching to facilitate social change through empowerment, rising aspirations, capacity and skills building techniques and creative coaching.

Brian Ansell has gained a wide range of voluntary experience from the early 1970’s including working with government department projects such as youth training schemes and organisations that were involved with the social inclusion of the Vietnamese boat people.

He continues to be involved with local museum clubs, adult learning difficulties groups, Cambridge young archaeologists and the Society for disabled artists. Brian had a forty year career as a stonemason and sculptor restoring some of our world renowned medieval buildings including Lincoln cathedral and York minster’s great west door.
