Care and support for older people

Genesis provides two types of support for older people – accommodation based and community based – across London and the South East. We actively encourage our customers to engage in social activities, either based at the schemes, local day centres, or in the community, to promote positive health and well being.

We provide housing for older people who need extra help to manage their health and well-being. Accommodation consists of self contained flats which are designed so that people can remain independent.

Staff are on site at these schemes 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Immediate support is available and our 24/7 emergency alarm call system is linked to each individual flat. See the directory for a full list.

Sheltered housing

These housing schemes are purpose built or specially adapted to allow older people to live independently as part of their community, with the additional security of knowing there are staff available to call in an emergency.

Each sheltered housing scheme is different, but in most cases they are self contained flats with communal facilities such as a lounge, kitchen and gardens. There are also a range of social and leisure activities. The flats also have a 24/7 emergency alarm call system for emergencies. See the directory for a full list.

  • assistance with meal preparation
  • support following hospital discharge
  • general convalescent care
  • general practical and domestic services

Floating support

Our floating support workers visit individuals in their own homes and offer them advice and support to complete general tasks such as benefits and welfare claims, financial and social inclusion, and tenancy sustainment.
