An historic beginning
City Park West will offer nearly 650 homes including shared ownership, rental and extra care units. The scheme started in 2013 and has already delivered homes and new green space with commercial units. It has restored three old buildings including The Anne Knight Building.
It is just a short walk from the city centre. The centre has a range of shopping, leisure amenities and vibrant nightlife. It is also ideally located just a short walk from the train and bus stations.
A masterplan of transformation
In 2012, we were given the go ahead to work on the former Anglia Ruskin University site.
The first phase started in 2013. It delivered 219 new homes including a 65-bedroom extra care facility. Within this phase, two historic buildings were brought back into use within a series of new public spaces including shops, cafés and offices. Phase 1 was completed in late 2015.
The second phase includes making 426 new homes, 4,900 Sq. M of commercial floor space, new public open spaces and underground parking. It is currently being worked on and will be finished in 2019,
It launched in October 2017 bringing 40 new shared ownership homes and a further 50 homes available for private rent. These will be ready to move into in early 2018.
